Dr Shireen Kumar
General Practitioner
Dr Shireen Kumar is a GP with over ten years of clinical experience, bringing a uniquely global perspective to her practice at Essendon Fields. Raised in Canada, Dr Kumar completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto before pursuing her medical degree at the University of Sydney. She holds a Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) and a Graduate Diploma in Healthcare in Remote and Extreme Environments from the University of Tasmania.
Dr Kumar began her career as a general surgery trainee in Melbourne before discovering a passion for rural and remote medicine, which led her to complete her generalist training in outback Queensland. She continues to spend part of her time providing primary and emergency healthcare to rural and remote Australians.
Dr Kumar warmly welcomes patients of all ages to her practice, where she is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual.
