Dr Liesbeth Matthijs
General Practitioner
Dr. Liesbeth Matthijs is a dedicated General Practitioner with a Master’s degree in Medicine (2010) from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and advanced training as a specialist GP from Leiden University(2014), Netherlands. After nine years of medical practice in the Netherlands, she relocated to Australia in 2022, initially serving as a GP in regional Toowoomba. Following her time there, she explored Australia with her young family while completing her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr. Liesbeth has a deep interest in women’s health, with expertise in pediatrics, breastfeeding medicine and preventive care. She is highly skilled in procedures such as IUD and contraceptive implant (Implanon NXT) insertion and removal, suturing, wedge excisions, and the treatment of ingrown nails.
