Special Services

Skin checks involve a systematic examination of the skin by a qualified GP to assess new, changing, or concerning spots.

The doctor considers individual risk factors such as skin type, personal and family history, and sun exposure, and may provide advice on skin health and prevention.

Where clinically appropriate, the GP may arrange monitoring, discuss management options, perform biopsies or removals, organise follow‑up, or refer to another medical practitioner for further assessment.

Patients are encouraged to raise any concerns or skin changes with their GP as part of their ongoing care.

Minor surgical procedures are provided by trained general practitioners and are undertaken where clinically appropriate.

Our clinic offers a range of low‑risk procedures commonly managed in primary care, including laceration management, skin lesion biopsies and removals, excisions, curettage, wound repair, removal of cysts or ingrown toenails, and long‑acting reversible contraception (LARC) insertion and removal.

The GP will assess the patient’s medical history, discuss the nature of the procedure, potential risks, and aftercare requirements.

Follow‑up care, pathology review, or referral to another medical practitioner may be arranged where required.

Standard GP Consultations

A standard GP consultation is designed to assess and manage a wide range of everyday health concerns. It commonly includes care for acute illnesses such as colds and flu, gastroenteritis and urinary tract infections, as well as follow‑up appointments to review test results or ongoing symptoms.

GPs also use these consultations to provide medication reviews and repeat prescriptions, arrange referrals to specialists, and request imaging or pathology when needed.

Importantly, standard consultations are where new or early signs of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma or high blood pressure are first identified and a management plan is discussed.

Chronic Condition Management

Chronic Condition Management focuses on supporting patients living with long‑term conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, arthritis, and mental health comorbidities.

Through structured care plans, regular reviews and coordinated support with allied health and specialist services, GPs help patients monitor their condition, adjust treatments and address both physical and emotional health needs.

The aim is to improve quality of life, reduce complications, and provide continuity of care, so patients feel confident, informed and supported in managing their health over the long term.

Mental Health

Mental health identification and treatment focus on early recognition, compassionate care and ongoing support. GPs commonly identify concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress and adjustment difficulties during routine consultations and provide a safe, confidential space to talk about mental wellbeing.

Care may include the development of a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, brief counselling and practical strategies, as well as referrals to psychologists, psychiatrists or other non‑GP specialist services when additional support is needed.

This coordinated approach helps patients access appropriate care, build coping strategies and improve their overall mental health and quality of life.

45 – 49 Years Health Assessments

A 45 – 49 Years Health Assessment is a preventive health check designed for people aged 45 – 49 who are at risk of developing chronic disease.

During the assessment, the GP reviews the patient’s medical and family history, lifestyle risk factors (such as smoking, diet, physical activity and alcohol use), and checks key measurements including blood pressure, weight and waist circumference.

The consultation may also involve assessing mental wellbeing and discussing early signs of conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Based on the findings, the GP provides personalised advice, preventive strategies, referrals, or follow‑up care to help reduce future health risks and support long‑term wellbeing.

75+ Years Health Assessments

A 75+ Years Health Assessment is a comprehensive preventive check designed to support the health, independence and quality of life of older people.

The assessment looks at physical health, chronic conditions, medications, mobility, fall risk, vision and hearing, as well as cognitive function and mental wellbeing. It also considers social supports, daily functioning and home safety.

Based on the findings, the GP develops a personalised management plan, which may include preventive care, medication adjustments, referrals to allied health or community services, and regular follow‑up to help maintain overall health and wellbeing.

Child and Adolescent Health

Child and adolescent health focuses on supporting children and young people through all stages of growth and development.

GPs provide care for acute illnesses, ongoing conditions such as asthma or eczema, and support routine immunisations, developmental checks and school‑age health concerns.

Consultations may also address nutrition, sleep, physical activity, learning or behavioural issues, and emerging mental health or emotional wellbeing concerns, particularly during adolescence.

GPs work closely with families and, when needed, coordinate referrals to paediatricians, psychologists or allied health services to ensure children and adolescents receive age‑appropriate, holistic and ongoing care.

Women’s Health

Women’s health care focuses on comprehensive, compassionate, and confidential support across all stages of life.

We offer dedicated women’s health services, including cervical screening (often completed during a standard consultation), breast checks, reproductive and sexual health care, and menopause support.

GPs also provide pregnancy confirmation and antenatal shared care, contraception advice including IUD planning, and ongoing menopause management tailored to individual needs.

This holistic approach ensures women receive respectful, personalised care that supports their health and wellbeing from adolescence through to later life.

Men’s Health

Men’s health care focuses on prevention, early detection and proactive support for long‑term wellbeing.

We provide comprehensive men’s health services, including prostate cancer checks, cardiovascular risk assessments, reproductive and sexual health care, and personalised lifestyle support such as nutrition, exercise, weight management and smoking cessation.

GPs also help identify and manage common issues like fatigue, stress, mental health concerns and chronic conditions.

Diabetes Assessments and Management

Fees & Policies

Fees & Payment

This is a Private Billing Clinic. Patients pay the full fee for the consultation as set by their doctor.

Medicare may reimburse part of the doctors consult fee and patients pays the difference often known as the ‘gap’ or ‘out-of-pocket’.

For valid Medicare card holders, Medicare rebates can usually be processed on-site however at times; patients may be required to pay for the service and make a claim directly with Medicare.

Medicare refunds are usually deposited within 2 working days, often immediately, to patients nominated bank account.

Non-Medicare services, procedures and consumables may attract additional fees.

Missed appointments will result in a non-attendance fee.

Fees are payable on the day of service. This clinic accepts EFTPOS, most credit cards and cash.

Referrals, Prescriptions & Follow-up

An appointment is required for all referrals, prescriptions and follow up visits. Referrals and prescriptions may incur an additional fee.

Doctors review all results and if follow-up is needed, patients will be contacted via telephone, SMS, email or letter depending on the urgency.

If patients are not contacted but still wanting to discuss results, they should book a follow up appointment.

Our practice supports preventive care with reminders for screenings, immunisations and tests. You may receive an SMS, email or letter when a check-up is due. Please inform reception if you wish to opt out.

Communication

Most concerns are best handled in a consultation, however urgent medical advice is available during clinic hours.

Calls to the doctor can sometimes inconvenience patients while having their consultation so a message will be taken.

Emails are checked periodically throughout the day and are usually actioned within 2 business day.

Our staff are experienced in helping you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return phone call from the practice or urgent advice.

If your call is urgent and a doctor is not available, you will be put through to the nurse and triaged accordingly.

If you need immediate assistance during business hours and are unable to reach us, please call medical emergencies on dial 000.

Assistance Services

If you or a family member requires an interpreter, the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing offer interpretation services through its Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS). Please call the TIS on 131 450 or visit the TIS website.

Pathology & Radiology Results

To protect patient confidentiality and comply with the National Privacy Act, patients must book a follow-up appointment with their doctor to receive and discuss their pathology and radiology results.

Cancellations

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you cancel or do not attend your appointment without adequate notice this prevents us treating another patient who may require our services.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or change your appointment time.

Failure to attend your appointment or give 24 hours’ notice may result in a cancellation fee.

Patient Feedback

We acknowledge that patient feedback and complaints are an important source of patient information.

Under the Human Rights Commission Act 2005, people with complaints should try to resolve them directly with the health service provider or medical centre by emailing them via this form.
