Dr Andrea Lung of Collins Street Medical Centre took over Albert parkrun on 27 July to raise awareness of the many benefits of joining the free community event. She advocates parkrun a prescription for good health.
Dr Lung is championing parkrun as a way of boosting mental, physical and social wellbeing. Dr Lung has been informally ‘prescribing’ parkrun to her patients for a while, and is hopeful the practice of ‘social prescribing’ will soon be backed by the RACGP.
